Assistant Manager Business Parts and Energy

Purpose:

As Assistant Manager Business Parts & Energy, you will help develop, implement and maintain a single parts list strategy for TIP, as well as overseeing our strategic energy procurement in close cooperation with the regional leadership.

You will focus on driving process and financial improvement, developing KPIs, training & education, central sourcing, digitalisation and development. You will play a significant role in developing/implementing new products and go-to-market strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the development of the parts procurement strategies to grow revenues, improve services excellence & increase margins
  • Review and propose spare parts sourcing strategies to drive productivity
  • Evaluate spare parts strategies (BD, insource or alternative sourcing)
  • Instrumental in creating a ‘Single parts list’, (including photo and/or schematic drawings of parts, DNA), that aligns across Europe/Canada, and maintain same through constant change
  • Ensure single parts table is updated as a consequence of the manufacture substitution/development, and become the focal point for such communications (externally & internally)
  • Create analysis of European parts prices to ensure we always have the best, and most consistent pricing for TIP and the customer
  • Identify opportunities to further digitise the parts process
  • Execution of a spare parts inventory/parts management application
  • Identify and qualify new parts suppliers, and implement into the sourcing process
  • Develop parts audit/stock checking framework and KPI’s
  • Review & develop further financial & operational KPI’s
  • Identify warranty T&C’s with supplier, record, and co-ordinate warranty returns/ claims and warranty recalls
  • Identify PMQ opportunities and help define protocols and manage compliance via sourcing strategy
  • Working in conjunction with the BI team, through KPI’s help the regions to identify parts trends and eliminate excess usage/poor part performance
  • Through KPI’s help the regions to identify parts in inventory stocks and suggest stock changes to eliminate
  • Provide leadership to come to consensus on the overall sourcing strategy, monitor the execution of the strategy and address any deviation from the sourcing strategy (for instance, on site level)
  • Assume responsibility as the Indirect Energy Procurement Provider’s single/main point of contact
  • Act as the central point of contact regarding indirect sourcing for TIP workshops/branches/offices
  • Coordinate internal responses to strategic sourcing tenders
  • Align sourcing strategy to Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) Strategy of TIP (i.e. sourcing of “green” electricity)
  • Provide energy consumption data to ESG/EHS function

Knowledge & experience

  • A leader with the experience and personality to drive the change towards becoming a leading parts supply chain manager in the M&R services business for trailer, swap bodies and trucks in a large multinational company
  • Proven strategic and operational vision and analytical skills with ability to provide guiding and coaching
  • Proven track record and experience involvement in a multinational M&R business service or assisting in leading the operational function
  • Proven track record and experience in a Pan-European trailer or truck parts supply chain business
  • Demonstrable work experience, in parts procurement and management
  • Knowledge of transport industry and technical expertise of trailers & trucks and its components
  • Experience in indirect sourcing/energy procurement is an advantage
  • Change management expertise
  • Able to translate strategies and business priorities into actionable plans
  • Flexible, resourceful with a high degree of attention to detail and someone who takes initiatives
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
