What is FleetBeat?

FleetBeat is a robust telematics hardware device that is fitted to a trailer and that supplies real-time location and rich electronic braking system data to our back-office software platform, FleetConnected. Direct connectivity to the trailer’s EBS enables it to provide rich information enabling insights on the performance and health of your trailer fleet.

  • integrated GPS module for accurate reporting of trailer position, driving versus standstill status, speed, mileage
  • automatically captures rich EBS data to report on roll-stability events, harsh braking events, diagnostic trouble codes, non-ISO connectivity, axle loads etc.
  • data captured in real-time but reported at sensible intervals

Why use FleetBeat?

FleetBeat puts your trailer use first! Real-time access to operational data in FleetConnected helps you make smart decisions to manage and improve the daily utilisation of your trailers. If you’re looking to optimise trailer maintenance and uptime, you can rely on FleetBeat to provide the information to do so.

How FleetBeat works?

After the installation of the FleetBeat telematics device and the back-office set-up, the hardware unit starts communicating operational data in real-time with FleetConnected.

What is FleetBeat-Cooler?

As with FleetBeat, FleetBeat-Cooler is a robust telematics hardware device that is fitted to a trailer and that supplies real-time location and rich electronic braking system data to our back-office software platform, FleetConnected. Again, direct connectivity to the trailer’s EBS enables it to provide rich information enabling insights on the performance and health of your trailer fleet.

However, FleetBeat-Cooler also provides remote reefer management, connection to data loggers and also enables connectivity to door sensors (see DoorPlus).

  • integrated GPS module for accurate reporting of trailer position, driving vs standstill status, speed, mileage
  • automatically captures rich EBS data to report on roll-stability events, harsh braking events, diagnostic trouble codes, non-ISO connectivity, axle loads etc.
  • data captured in real-time but reported at sensible intervals
  • temperature monitoring capability
  • connectivity to reefer / logger systems to report on fuel levels, error codes, diesel / electric hours
  • offers door sensor functionality

Why use FleetBeat-Cooler?

FleetBeat-Cooler pushes the boundaries of trailer telematics. It helps you optimise security for your cargo and trailers and improve general safety standards on the road.  Maximum connectivity ensures operational transparency and simplifies trailer fleet management in virtually every situation.

How FleetBeat-Cooler works?

FleetBeat-Cooler is usually installed close to the trailer EBS under the chassis. After installation and the back-office set-up, the hardware unit starts communicating in real-time with FleetConnected.  As from that moment, fleet management can monitor and manage your trailers more efficiently.

What is TyrePlus?

TyrePlus is the next generation tyre pressure monitoring solution for trailers, that is specifically designed to reduce fleet running costs and to improve vehicle safety.  In addition to tyre pressure monitoring, TyrePlus also provides temperature data to enhance early leakage detection, supporting improved vehicle maintenance and uptime. Thanks to TyrePlus, fleet managers will have the capacity to receive status reports on tyres through FleetConnected, including an early warning in case of anomalies.

  • detects under and over-inflated tyres
  • reports every minute to provide early leakage detection, increasing road safety
  • detects temperature, reducing likelihood of ‘blowouts’
  • reduces fuel costs, no. of breakdowns & extends tyre-life
  • reduces CO2 ‘footprint’, tyre theft
  • helps ensure trailers run to schedule

Why use TyrePlus?

TyrePlus has been designed to maintain tyre pressure at the recommended level and detect slow punctures early, maximising tyre life and allowing tyres to be repaired rather than be replaced. Incorrectly set tyre pressure can also lead to sudden tyre failure and cause unnecessary downtime.

Why use TyrePlus?

TyrePlus is designed to work with all types of trailer.  The solution continuously receives updated tyre pressure information from internally mounted sensors, and these are communicated to your dashboard. Rim-mounted, TyrePlus sensors provide a continuous correlation between tyre temperature and pressure to improve reliability.

TyrePlus delivers continuous updates on tyre pressure and temperature from each monitored wheel to the back office, enabling fleet managers to easily follow up on tyre performance.

When a tyre needs to be controlled or replaced, TyrePlus delivers the data directly to fleet depots, allowing them to schedule maintenance as and when required.

What is DoorPlus?

DoorPlus is a magnetic door contact that detects whether a trailer door is open or closed. The advanced door contact system sends an ‘open/closed’ value via a wired connection to FleetBeat-CoolerFleetBeat-Cooler can be coupled with up to ten sensors. The status of the doors is displayed at the FleetConnected platform. The solution visualises door status changes both in real-time and in a historical overview chart.

  • detects door opening / closing & reports to back-end platform
  • provides additional security for high-value cargo
  • helps ensure cargo temperature is retained
  • also for non-refrigerated box-vans

Why use DoorPlus?

DoorPlus provides more than just a method of securing a door, it also provides a record of guardianship, for example by preventing temperature changes due to the unauthorised opening of refrigerated trailers. In the modern world, DoorPlus offers the peace of mind that a simple padlock cannot.

How DoorPlus works?

The door contact is built on two key parts: the switch and the magnet. The advanced switch technology is securely mounted onto the floor or ceiling of the trailer while the door magnet is mounted on the trailer door itself.

When the magnet is brought near the switch and the door closed, the system is activated, and a signal is picked up by the telematics device.

The magnet is pulled away from the switch when the door is opened, the system changes mode and a real-time signal picked up by the FleetBeat-Cooler telematics device.

A magnetic door contact senses when a cargo door is opened or closed and sends a corresponding message to FleetBeat-Cooler. In FleetConnected, the door status changes are visualised in real-time and a historical overview chart.

What is DataBridge?

DataBridge is TIP’s API, which delivers quick integration capabilities between TIP Insight and other applications that you already use.

Why use DataBridge?

Boost productivity by seamlessly linking your existing applications to TIP’s solution, enabling a single platform to be used.

How DataBridge works?

DataBridge unites all software application data into intelligent building blocks. The technology allows your software partners to swiftly collect all relevant information from the central database, without needing profound technical knowledge. As a result, your personnel can work in applications that they are familiar with and which interact directly with the telematics solution.

What actually is TIP Insight?

TIP Insight is TIP’s range of telematics-based digital and connected services aimed at providing users with information on the whereabouts and the performance of their trailers

Is TIP insight competitively priced?

Yes. TIP’s purchasing power, possible because of the sheer volume of products procured by operating on a pan-European and indeed global scale, enables us to offer the marketplace a competitively priced range of solutions despite being packed with features only usually found in higher-end, more expensive solutions.

How are TIP Insight products charged to users?

A fixed term is agreed with our customers and a monthly charge billed. There are no upfront costs, with any initial hardware costs built into the pricing.

Can TIP Insight be used in conjunction other telematics systems?

Potentially yes. TIP’s API, DataBridge, enables connectivity to other systems so that users can have all of their fleet visible in one, single platform, but it depends on the availability of an API from that other system too. TIP can advise on the feasibility of connecting TIP Insight to other systems.

Can DoorPlus be offered for use on non-refrigerated trailers?

Yes, despite requiring FleetBeat-CoolerDoorPlus can be offered or use on box-van trailers in order to provide additional security for high-value cargo.

How often does FleetBeat / FleetBeat-Cooler ‘ping’?

Despite capturing data in real-time, the telematics device only transmits data at intervals appropriate to functionality in use. When powered (by a trailer’s electronic braking system of reefer engine), it transmits data every five minutes whilst moving (if not moving, it is every 60 minutes). During standstill, it will transmit every 24 hours, in order to save battery-life, and for upto 125 days.

What is the difference between FleetBeat and FleetBeat-Cooler?

FleetBeat-Cooler offers the same functionality as FleetBeat but also provides temperature monitoring services and door sensor functionality.

Are TIP Insight products available for our own trailers?

Yes, in addition to being fitted to TIP’s own fleet of trailers, TIP Insight products can also be offered for fitment on your own trailers.

Can TIP Insight products be installed on any type of trailer?
